Description

Concrete is responsible for 8% of global CO2 emissions every year. At the same time, construction barely changed in decades: labor intensive, time consuming and risky processes and by 2030, 40% of skilled labour workers will retire. Besides that, there are 220 billion m3 of mining tailings globally which are difficult to maintain (TSF) and can present a number of dangers. What if we could tackle these 3 problems at the same time? In this lecture, Hyperion's founders will share the potential of implementing a circular model that combines upcycling mining talings and industrial waste with its 3D printing factories to produce concrete structures with up to 97% recycled materials and zero cement, showing clear examples of higher productivity and sustainability with companies like Iberdrola and Techint.
