Everyone can make their contribution to climate protection—including you as a visitor to bauma. That is why we would like to offer you the opportunity to quickly and easily offset your CO₂ footprint at the exhibition.
By paying an offset fee for the average CO₂ consumption of our visitors at the last bauma, you are making a significant contribution to promoting climate protection projects. This offset fee of EUR 5 will be invested in three high-quality myclimate carbon offset projects that meet the highest standards (Gold Standard, Plan Vivo) and, in addition to reducing greenhouse gases, demonstrably make a positive contribution to sustainable development locally and regionally. Let's walk the path to a greener future together.
“Floods, storms - in short, extreme weather conditions. Climate change is a societal challenge that motivates us all to act – in our private lives, and especially in a business environment. We at Messe München are working to strengthen our “Green Footprint” and have set ourselves the goal of being CO₂ neutral by 2030. Our events also deal with important topics: At bauma, for example, the focus has been on sustainability and resource efficiency for some time. Now the key topic „The way to Zero Emission“ is setting another strong signal for this year. And of course we also want to give our exhibitors, visitors and partners the opportunity to become active with us on the path to greater sustainability by purchasing a GoGreen ticket here.”
Stefan Rummel, Managing Director of Messe München GmbH
By offsetting your CO₂ consumption by recognized methods via myclimate, you will actively help to protect the climate.
Your offset fee will directly go to three high-quality myclimate carbon offset projects whose development you can follow transparently.
GoGreen Tickets do not consume any additional resources.
As a green visitor, you will draw other visitors’ attention to the importance of climate protection and literally become an ambassador for the myclimate climate protection projects.
The current price information and the link to the ticket store will be available here from fall/winter 2024.
In addition to the GoGreen CO₂ Ticket, there will be other opportunities for you to avoid emissions, save raw materials and protect the environment during your visit to bauma 2022.
The CO₂ emissions are offset in high-quality myclimate carbon offset projects that meet the highest standards (Gold Standard, Plan Vivo) and, in addition to reducing greenhouse gases, demonstrably make a positive contribution to sustainable development locally and regionally. The collected GoGreen ticket fees are distributed to the following international carbon offset projects.
The primary objective of the program is to disseminate water purification systems to low-income households and institutions such as schools, starting in Uganda. Carbon finance is used to give households access to the clean water technologies thereby improving the livelihoods and health conditions of thousands of people and at the same time reducing CO₂ emissions by reducing the consumption of non-renewable firewood and charcoal.
Situation without project:
Water purification by boiling with non-renewable wood and charcoal
Yearly CO₂ reduction:
61.399 t
Your support contributes to the following 8 Sustainable Development Goals:
SDG 1 - No poverty
Over 130 tons of firewood can be saved by a school on average per water filtration system.
SDG 3 - Good Health
More than 210,000 pupils benefit from the installed systems.
SDG 4 - Quality Education
Thanks to clean drinking water, pupils are ill less often and can attend school more regularly.
SDG 6 - Clean water and sanitary facilities
One school can treat 457,000 litres of drinking water per year.
SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production
354 water filter tanks and water treatment filters have been installed so far.
SDG 13 - Climate Actions
50,000 tonnes of CO₂ are saved per year.
SDG 15 - Life on land
1,266 hectares of forest saved from deforestation.
SDG 17 - Partnerships for the goals
Development, transfer and distribution of environmentally friendly water treatment technology.
The installation of domestic biogas plants substitutes the use of firewood and chemical fertilizers in the Karnataka region. In addition to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and less degradation of the forest people directly profit from higher crop yields and less indoor pollution. Moreover, the project will also reduce methane emissions from cattle manure.
Situation without project:
Using firewood and kerosene for cooking
Yearly CO₂ reduction:
45,.650 t
Your support contributes to the following 11 Sustainable Development Goals:
SDG 1 - No poverty
The use of slurry (organic fertilizer produced by the farmers themselves) helps to prevent small farmers from becoming dependent on chemical fertilizers, thus improving their families’ financial situation.
SDG 2 - Zero hunger
To date, the biogas systems have produced 301,534 tons of organic fertilizer and thus reduced 6,130 tons of chemical fertilizer, thus contributing to sustainable agriculture.
SDG 3 - Good health and well-being
50,000 persons have benefited from better air quality since the start of the project.
SDG 4 - Quality education
Because the time-consuming collection of firewood is no longer necessary, children have more time to go to school and do homework. This gives each family almost 1.2 hours of additional time per day.
SDG 5 - Gender equity
Only women are entitled to buy and own a biogas plant. This helps to level out the balance of power in the family and to strengthen the position of the women.
SDG 7 - Affordable and clean energy
8,033 biogas digesters have been installed since the start of the project.
SDG 8 - Decent work and economic growth
22 permanent jobs have been created for the local population and more than 8,000 people have been trained in the use of biogas plants.
SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production
The recycling of organic waste contributes to sustainable waste management.
SDG 13 - Climate actions
Each biogas biodigester avoids 6.5 t CO₂ and reduced wood consumption by 3.7 t per year.
SDG 15 - Life on land
To date, the program has reduced wood consumption by 221,054 tons and has thus saved 3,028 hectares of forest from deforestation.
SDG 17 - Partnerships for the goals
The program enables the transfer, dissemination and implementation of environmentally friendly technologies in India
This carbon offset project provides renewable energy in one of the poorest provinces of Vietnam. The construction of a mini hydropower plant supplies clean electricity to the national grid. The activity reduces the consumption of energy produced by coal, gas or diesel plants and thus leads to reduced carbon emissions
Situation without project:
Electricity from fossil fuels
Yearly CO₂ reduction:
3.780 t
Your support contributes to the following 4 Sustainable Development Goals:
SDG 7 Affordable and clean energy
45,994,972 kWh electricity has been produced since the start of the project.
SDG 8 Decent work and economic growth
24 jobs have been generated.
SDG 13 Climate actions
The project has prevented 26,452 tonnes of carbon emissions.
SDG 17 Partnerships for the goals
The project could be realised thanks to carbon certificates.
* Sustainable Development Goals
The international initiative with Swiss roots is one of the world's quality leaders in voluntary CO₂ compensation measures. With its high-quality projects, myclimate drives measurable climate protection and sustainable development worldwide. Emissions are reduced by replacing fossil energy resources with renewable energy, and by implementing local afforestation measures with smallholder farmers and energy-efficient technologies. Experienced consultants help companies in the field of CO₂ and resource management identify and develop potential. myclimate’s more than 140 climate protection projects so far have helped save 9.65 million tons of CO2, plant 13.7 million trees and create 16,600 jobs.
