AUMA’s tools
The Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) provides a helpful brochure for your first steps towards successful planning and participation at bauma.
The comprehensive AUMA brochure "Successful Participation in Trade Fairs” delivers well-founded information on all the essential aspects you need to consider for a successful trade fair presentation.
Patent protection
In favor of your industrial property rights we take effective measures to protect your patents optimally against copies and reproductions.
The protection of your rights is crucial for us. For this reason, our Conditions of Participation contain an anti-plagiarism clause that is legally binding for all participants. In addition, there is a general ban on photography, which we pay particular attention to.
Should a case of plagiarism occur despite our best efforts and strict measures, we will secure you and your products with short-term court hearings: the District Court of Munich exclusively reserves these at the instigation of Messe München. In the worst case, you can thus obtain preliminary injunctions more quickly. In the application, the applicant must clearly state that it is a matter of urgency for bauma and state the duration of the trade fair.
A tip: Please also note our PDF documentInformation sheet on proprietary rights. It contains further details, assistance and useful links on the topic.
Information on compliance with musical copyright
We want to protect you from unpleasant surprises. For your trade fair presentation this means: non-registered music playback may result in GEMA claims for damages (Art. 97 Copyright Act).
We therefore expressly point out that the legal provisions of the German Society for Musical Performing and Mechanical Reproduction Rights (GEMA) also apply at bauma. Under the conditions of the Copyright Act, permission is required for musical reproductions of all kinds. It is best to contact GEMA directly to ensure that you are acting in accordance with the law:
