The key topics of bauma 2025

Digitalization and sustainability – these will be the driving forces of our industry in the future. They are also reflected in the five key topics that we have defined for bauma 2025 together with our partner, the VDMA Construction-Equipment and Plant Engineering as well as representatives of the industry. These key topics will be brought to life in the bauma supporting program and, of course, by the exhibitors’ various exhibits and innovations. The impetus given here will have a decisive impact on the markets. Around the world.

Climate neutrality – strategy, investment, roadmap

Achieving climate neutrality by 2050 is technologically feasible. For the transformation to be cost-effective for all stakeholders, new legal frameworks and structures are needed to enable affordable construction. Policymakers, builders and the industry need to agree on a roadmap - planning certainty creates a willingness to invest.

Alternative drive concepts - opportunity, limits, infrastructure

Due to their high performance, construction machines require individual drive concepts tailored to the type of machine and the infrastructure of a construction site. Hydrogen, eFuels, battery electrics - everything must be possible, because the central question is always how the energy gets to the construction site and into the machine. The answers to this question vary.

Networked construction - machines, processes, people

Environmental protection and staff shortages are accelerating the digitization of machines and the development of automated and alternative construction methods to make processes more efficient, safer and more user-friendly - in all construction segments. Data management and serial construction are two essential factors of networked construction.

Sustainable construction - carbon footprint, resource conservation, circular economy

Building materials are a key to significantly reducing the carbon footprint. Recycled materials, new concrete mixes and substitute building materials in combination with a functioning circular economy make it possible to conserve resources and avoid the release of carbon dioxide. Sensitive demolition processes with up-cycling machines will make construction waste and disposal a thing of the past as far as possible.

Mining challenge - security of supply of commodities, automation, ESG

The supply of raw materials must be secured through political support in third countries and a new approach to domestic raw material extraction. In order to ensure that surface and underground mining can be carried out in an environmentally compatible manner, thought must be given to the end right from the start. Redesigning and renaturating landscapes is part of every project planning. Automated and, where possible, autonomous processes ensure greater efficiency and safety. ESG criteria (Environmental, Social, Governance) help companies to secure the supply of raw materials while at the same time taking ethical principles into account.
